so have you heard that the guinea pigs are taking over the world in 30 days its kind of ironic that guinea pigs are planning on taking over the world on the exact day that xanga was supposed to shut down....

maybe guinea pigs are running xanga...

maybe this was all part of their plan!

the guinea pigs orchestrated the shut down of xanga just so we would all freak out about xanga shutting down and not pay attention to the fact that little furry things that kind of look like bunnies ARE TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!

we will all be fooled into sitting, staring blankly at our computers, waiting for the final shut down...

and outside our doors hordes of fluffy little guinea pigs will come to enslave us all to the awesome and terrible power of...

this is a response to a pulse by SKANLYN (even if youve already read the pulse you should read all of this because ive added some more information to it):

Does anyone still think Xanga will be around on July 16th?

i do a four card layout. i have book that has a paragraph of information for each card. when i read i look for pertinent information from the paragraphs for each separate card in the layout. so here is what i got card-wise:

THE SUN, VI OF SWORDS, DEATH, V OF PENTACLES.

the first card in tells us a bit about the immediate issue. the second is the past. the third the present and the fourth the future.

THE SUN being the first card is upside down, this changes the meaning altogether. cards in the upright position are sometimes more positive outcomes than the upside down ones. 

the relevant phrases found in the altered meaning are:

Relationship hassles are likely.

i find this relevant because of the many friendships on xanga which will be effected by a shutdown.

the next phrase is:

Don't get wrapped up in yourself so tightly that you ignore your partner's or others' needs.

i believe this is directed towards all the people who doubt Xanga's continuation and are deciding to give up on it.

Set goals realistically and try to do what's good for all parties involved.

this tells us that whatever you think will happen you should prepared for whatever could happen (such as archiving previous posts and establishing other means of contact with friends).

i already think this reading is off to a good start because that was the entire card and it all appears to be relevant.

the next card tells us something about the past. this card is VI OF SWORDS, it is also upside down.

the first relevant phrase i find is:

Your greatest accomplishments come through competition.

i believe this means that xanga is in competition with other blogging sites.

Learn from the opposition.

they should have learned what the other sites were doing to keep up with the competition.

Look outside yourself for alternative courses of action.

the competition had good ideas.

Solutions become clear when you get away from day-to-day duties.

but they were to close to the matter to make any pertinent changes.

once again all phrases from the paragraph seemed relevant.

card three discusses the present in the form of the card DEATH. it is our first and only upright card.

relevant phrases are:

You are entering a growing phase.

something has changed or is changing... im unsure as to what it is.

Acknowlegment comes slowly.

people are unwilling to realize the lengths they need to go to to keep xanga running.

No one will offer a helping hand unless you beg for it.

its going to cost you money to keep xanga around.

Don't take "no" as a final answer.

but you can keep it running if you do the work/spend the money.

Avoid self-pity.

it wastes everyones time when you complain.

Get rid of some old habits.

not sure what its trying to say here. stop smoking so you can afford to pay for xanga?

Stop doing anything that doesn't feel right for you.

if your heart isnt in it then dont pay to continue blogging.

the final card in the future position is upside down. it is V OF PENTACLES. this card tells us:

Learn the virtues of self-discipline and teamwork -- these will bring rewards.

xanga will be saved if we all band together to pay for it.

Others try to make you conform.

there will be a lot of preasure from people to join the pay site.

Reserve the Right to express yourself as you choose.

Repaid loans or a new source of income are likely.

xanga is definitely going to be a pay site and that's not going away anytime soon.

altogether i believe the cards are telling us what we pretty much already know: its going to cost a lot of money to keep this sinking ship afloat. some people will pay and stay and others will go. we all need to think about it and make a personal decision on what to do. it isnt the fault of the bloggers who cant afford to pay that the site is closing so dont blame them for it.
